IMPORTANT: Roundnet Ontario 2024 Elite Update
Roundnet Ontario Board voted to allow Roundnet Canada Elite players in the RO Elite division at tour stops in 2024. This vote was due in part to a variety of factors, including increasing the number of elite division teams to have more full, top-level divisions, as well as reducing the skill disparity in advanced making both divisions more competitive. This change allows the following additional players to play in the RO Elite division:

Brandon Farronato, Broxton Leibold, Josh Sarmiento, Shakil Nobes, Andrew Collard, Chris Loubert, PA Gaumond, Gavin Demoura, and Kelton Law.

We have also received some questions about qualifying for the elite division from advanced this year! Here is a short FAQ for players:

Q: How many elite qualifications are up for grabs at RO tour stops in advanced divisions?
A: One (1) per stop for the winning team. This number does not increase with the size of the division

Q: Can elite players play in advanced? If so, what happens to the elite qualification?
A: Yes, elite players can play in the advanced division under a couple of clauses.
โ€ƒ1. No two elite player teams can play in advanced.
โ€ƒ2. Teams with an elite qualified player cannot gain elite in advanced, and the spot would move down a spot should the team with the elite qualified player win the division.
โ€ƒ3. Elite-qualified players can choose to be relegated, losing their status. This must be justified under good cause, such as wanting to play with a set-season partner.

We hope to be seeing you at our first tour stop on April 27th at ROTC YORK! You can find the tournament by clicking on our 'Events' tab at the top of the website. See you soon!

Roundnet Ontario 2024 Elite Ruleset
This year, RO is deep and fortunate enough to be running an elite division at our tour stops, restricted to our elite qualified players in 2023. This division is playing for bids and points, to be able to play in the 16-team elite division at our provincial championships.

You can re-qualify for elite in 2 ways: through auto bids at our various tour stops, or through points. Auto bids will be allocated based on the number of elite teams in attendance. Elite team points will be accrued as teams, not individuals. However, to allow for more mashups and partner variation, we only count a team's top 2 results.

Under 8 teams: No elite division
Under 16 teams: One auto-bid
16 teams or more: Two auto-bids

Points can be accrued only in the elite division, so advanced players must qualify for elite by winning the advanced division at any tour stop first.

* Elite bids will be accepted after 6 tour stops, prior to provincials. No player may accept more than one bid. True second will not be played in case of two auto bids. Auto bids will not move down a spot if the winning team already has a bid.

Elite players are able to play with any partner but to re-qualify for the Elite division at Provincial Championships you must do so as a team! The top 16 TEAMS based on a team's best 2 performances will make Elite at Provincials to compete for the title as Ontario Champions and move into the 2025 season as โ€œRO Eliteโ€. Winners of stop will get an auto-bid as a team and the remaining spots will be based on points standings, check out website for more details ๐Ÿ‘€

Missisauga Roundnet will be hosting STS - River Cup again so if ther's any event you want to attend that is the one! They also joined ASL tour series to host a new Squads Draft format so look out for details on that! And finally we are running it back with the Provincial Championships Squads event ๐Ÿ†
